Things were certainly a mess, but they got even messier when the Monsignor and his sister returned with their own doubles, not having escaped the intense beam in time. Sister Mulcahey was pleased at the idea of being her own assistant, but the bishop was somewhat consternated. For one thing, he did not know if his ordination and consecration as bishop extended to his double, and therefore whether he should let his alter- ego say Mass. This was a fine pickle if the alter- ego had his personality, and insisted on saying Mass. Then a thought struck him: How could he be sure he was not the double? Everything was so confused. Suddenly, he noticed Muffy and Fluffy, looking very enticing, and he closed his eyes and began praying. As he prayed, Stuffy said.....
