Your non-reply regarding whether NYC taxpayers should have had to pay for NYC cops to protect Rudy's mistress was a dodge. Saying "I am not familiar bla bla bla" was most weak. Simple question: Was Rudy correct in insisting that the public pay for police protection for his non-spousal squeeze? Yes or no?

Getting back to the more important issue of rebuilding America's cities: Actually, your criticism of urban Democrats is sort of a non-sequitur. That's because the Repugs have no intention of rebuilding Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Detroit and hundreds of smaller cities with eyesore downtowns. No, the Republican answer is NOT rebuilding America's cities; it's expanding the suburbs to the endless horizon.

If you think about it, what's happening in the United States today is not unlike what occurred in South Africa for most of the past century: isolate impoverished minorities ... surround them ... even give them quasi-independence (so as to improve the national bottom line).

Economic racism.
