In a way, I see as "innocuous" the expression(s) Neocon mentioned, too.

I do, too. I think it's just fine that families say "grace" at Thanksgiving dinner, no matter who is at the table. And I have Christmas decorations that I put up in the odd years when I'm not too lazy. I have different views of community activities like graduations, football games, town meetings, etc.

Regarding Islam, it will likely be a while before all that sorts out.
