Do you live in the past and have a time machine that you use to visit the present?
I know all about their accomplishments 1000 years ago, who doesn't? The point is, what have the done in the last 300 years, the last 200 years? the last 100 years? the last 50 years?
Then take that list and compare it to the things the western world has accomplished or discovered (however you want to put it). You would think that since they have been here for thousands of years and we have only been here for 300, we would be where they are developmentally (proper word?) and they would be where we are. It's the other way around though isn't it.
If you were to apply for a job as an accountant say, and you're fifty years old, and they ask you what experience you had, do you think that bookeeping job you had in high school would be more important than the whatever..fireman, truckdriver, policeman, doctor, job you have held for the last 30 years? I don't. I wouold think that they would say that well, yeah, you had some experience but it's really to long ago. And in that case youre only speaking of 30 years, you keep wanting to bring up things that happened thousands of years ago. By your reasoning it's okay to go and kill all the Italians because the romans were so brutal to everyone when they were the big cheeses. |
