combjelly - You wrote Ok, it might be limited to 1 and 2 way servers, but guess where most of the sales are?

No need to guess. Most of the server sales are over at Intel.
Even after 10 months of Athlon MP sales, no major OEM is using AMD chips for servers and, as AMD said, they have essentially zero market share in servers.
If October sees the release of Hammer, expect that 10 months beyond that time, Hammer will have no major corporate server design wins.
Too new...
too risky...
Why bother? Intel systems work just fine and they scale from 1..to 2...to 4...to 8..to 16....to 32...
So why buy in to a dead end 2-way Hammer system.
Just wait for Sister Sledge.
And wait...
And wait....
