Personal God is right up there, Karen. Why not just say that some people believe there is a Creator and some people don't?

I am indifferent to what consenting adults do in private.

Where have you come into contact with Christians kneeling in prayer? With zombies? With a Jew in mourning, whose clothes are rent? With saints' relics? With people taking Communion?

On the topic of submission:

The point of this discussion is to negotiate how to reconcile this clash of beliefs in public fora. In order to do that, believers need to understand how seriously it offends. Then we can talk about how to make that offense more innocuous.

It is? You find many of Judaism's and Christianity's religious practices, which are done exclusively during worship services, as personally offensive to you? What is offensive about other peoples' submission during religious occasions? Should Christians and Jews tailor their religious practices so as not to offend agnostics and atheists?

Seems like political correctness at its extreme.

I remember the "imaginary friend" conversation at Christmas. Then we had a prolonged discussion about the alleged Christian and Jewish religious practices at Passover and Easter. As one of the few Christians here, and as a Christian who neither believes nor practices the derision or exclusion of secularists, I've largely stayed out of these discussions. But at this point I've got to tell you that I've heard more than enough of this for now. You're (collectively) beginning to do to others what you're complaining about others doing to you.

I'll return when this topic's over with.
