I haven't read the article but with regards to your synopsis resulting in item 4, I have a hard time believing that Iraq would use the weapons mentioned for the following reason. That's one scenario, C, and the one I hope most likely, but there are definitely others. The one that appears on this thread the most registers Saddam in the megalomaniac world conquerors club with no ability to see what you've just seen. I think that unlikely. The scenario that seems also likely is that the acquisition of wmd is, among other things, a way for Saddam to enhance his standing in the Arab world. He wishes to threaten, not use. And by threatening enhance his ability to do other things.
