..... Unicom has completed over 200 CDMA network covering over 330 cities. Guangdong Unicom constructed 3900 basestations with 1.8M capacity. It will be doubled by yearend. As of right now, Guangdong Unicom's CDMA network has already exceeded our GSM network.

...... of the 19 chosen manufacturers ..... MOT has openly said they will support CDMA development. As for the 18 domestics, it is a case by case basis. For example, TCL and Ningbo Bird are strong with GSM handsets so they are not fully pushing CDMA handsets. Haier's had said - no purchase orders, no manufacturing. Guagnzhou Southern High Tech manager said, "We are working around the clock." They purchased an assembly line from Korea, capable of producing 4,000 handsets per day. Target for this year is 1 million handsets or 10% of market share. "We think this is the perfect time for entering the CDMA market."
