This month - 6/25/97 - these regulations or guidelines will be issued by the EPA. The states have a target date of August, 1998 to submit their respective plans on how they are going to come into compliance with these new guidelines. The last date for state plan submission is August, 1999. If a state or states do not submit their compliance plan, the EPA will then be forced to impose their compliance plan on those states. The various timetables are described in detail on the 100+ page final regulation. Generally speaking, hospital's existing medical waste incinerators will have to come into compliance with these new regulations within a three to five year window from now: 2000 - 2002. That is why OREX is focusing on their present product line. This strategy was publicly announced along with their 1st qtr 97 earnings. Have a nice day and let me know if have any other questions.
