NII Holdings Selects InfoSpace to Provide Customers With Corporate Email Access on Wireless Devices
InfoSpace ``Zero-Footprint'' Solution Enables Secure, Integrated Access to Corporate and Personal Email Without the Need to Install Hardware or Software at Corporate Site

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 2002-- InfoSpace, Inc. (Nasdaq:INSP - news), a provider of wireless and Internet software and application services, and NII Holdings, Inc., a substantially wholly owned subsidiary of Nextel Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:NXTL - news), today announced that NII has selected InfoSpace to provide its customers with mobile access to corporate and personal email, corporate directory, calendars, and personal contacts on cellular phones, handheld computers and other devices.

InfoSpace's Corporate Email solution, first announced late last month, provides secure access to existing corporate messaging systems, such as Microsoft® Outlook(TM) or Lotus Notes(TM)/Domino(TM), over a wide range of mobile devices without the need to purchase, install and maintain any new software or hardware at the corporate site. The service offers users the ability to set alerts to notify them instantly of new messages, appointments and task reminders, and even to set parameters to ensure they are only alerted to information most important to them.

The solution integrates directly with a carrier's existing wireless data infrastructure to provide enterprises with a secure connection from which employees can view, reply, forward, send and delete email. The service also offers access to proprietary and standards-based personal email accounts, allowing users to view and manage all of their critical communications through a single interface.

``As a leading provider of wireless communication services designed to meet the needs of business customers in Latin America, we needed a scalable corporate email solution based on proven technology,'' said Nick Jacobs, director of wireless web services at NII Holdings. ``We are delighted with the progress that InfoSpace has made in creating, testing and implementing wireless email for our customers. Our research consistently indicates that wireless email is the number one data request from business users in our subscriber base. The InfoSpace solution offers NII a feature-rich interface while still providing the flexibility and simplicity that our customers demand, the security that they can rely on and aggregation capabilities for multiple accounts.''

``InfoSpace has a long track record of successfully delivering wireless email for millions of consumers in countries around the world, and we are leveraging the same technology and infrastructure to deliver a comprehensive corporate email access solution,'' said Jan Claesson, InfoSpace executive vice president, wireless. ``Our solution enables carrier partners such as NII to quickly deploy a secure wireless enterprise solution that is simple to implement and maintain and drives usage of voice, data and text alerts across their networks.''
