OT re "no one knows":

The overwhelming consensus of scientists, is that there is global warming, and it has been caused by human-created changes to the atmosphere. The only scientists who say otherwise, are paid shills for the energy industry.

Small changes in the average global temperature, will cause local changes (in rainfall, winter snow cover, etc.) all over the planet. This is causing an ongoing Mass Extinction Event, where a large fraction of existing species disappear. In addition, it has huge implications for human's ability to grow enough food. A little less water on the U.S. Great Plains, a little higher sea level in Bangladesh, results in a lot less wheat and rice production. This is a better world? I think not.
