Why don't the religions whom the chaplains represent pay them? Interesting idea. But I think the military wants to pay and fully control the chaplains and anyone else that is going to be part of its organization. Also what about people who worship faiths that are short on resources? Also the chaplains provide more then just religious services even if that is their primary reason for being part of the military. Tim
