You and I don't really disagree on a lot; but we appear to take a much different approach to stating it. I'm sure you won't agree with that

I continue to hold to my belief that much of the criticism of the UN is racist based, despite the fact that I agree with you concerning the failure of the organization to act in a professional and responsible manner in many situations. My previous argument holds. ( I am not saying by any means that all criticism of the UN is racist based, just that I see an increasing amount that is.)

With regard to Tobin and his proposal. Its economics. Its not politics. You want to interpret it as politics that's up to you. The man is a Nobel Laureate in Economics and tried to distance himself from politically motivated groups with regard to this proposal. The tools are not in themselves political.

If the world continues to change at the pace it is changing such international cooperation as envisaged by the Tobin proposal will be the rule in 20 years not the exception. You don't want to believe that fine. But I think you are fighting a losing cause. (That does not mean I applaud internationalization, just that I think it is inevitable.)

Why dont we look at cities outside obvious war zones. Most of the middle east and its people are rational and not particularly war like. The region is generally safe. They don't have a history of intermitent periods of self inflicted blood letting. Much of South America does.

If we want to look at the number of people killed by fanatics (of any kind) I am sure you will find that the numbers from South and Central America dwarf what the Arab world can produce. Its a fact; but not one I am going to bother running around counting up souls to prove.
