With HP and Compaq both somewhere between confusion and total meltdown, it's not surprising that Dell is doing well.

Intel had better not do anything to annoy what may soon become their only major OEM customer.

Dell is getting close to having a degree of control over Fortune 500 sales not seen since the days of the IBM AT.

The one thing that has materially changed in the past few months, is that Intel may now need Dell just as much as Dell needs Intel, which has the effect of lowering a barrier to entry for AMD - since Dell is fast approaching a position where it needn't fear Intel.

Maybe Dell will buy AMD and tell Intel to take a hike....
