Atul, your call for deciphering the S-3 has been unanswered. What else can you expect? People who tune in to this board don't read S-3 or "Risk Factors" therein, they only expect spoon feed of Cheeriors. They also whack everyone who points out the obvious hype.

As for the prospect of DSL, let me quote from people of higher authority than the regulars on this board:

"While Cole (technical committee chair for the ADSL Forum) envisioned 1999 as the breakthrough year for ADSL, Murphy (analyst at Dataquest in San Jose, Calif.) predicted the technology would be in an early-adopter phase for the rest of this decade, with widespread deployment not beginning until 2001." Given the limited cash available and repeated delays, Amati will have a hard time to be a credible provider of end-to-end solutions, which is what potential customers want. Potential royalties from Mot, TI, or NEC cannot justify the current price.

Happy investing!

Charles
