isopatch: Glad you are ok with the guidelines...

I have been in the process this week of completing a dance that started with the IRS last Oct. Seems they decided I owed them additional taxes for 1998 and 1999. After they generously heaped on penalties and interest the bill for both years came to about 500K.

The returns were re-submitted to the Exam Dept in mid Nov 2001 along with additional supportive information. A resolution was finally reached this week. It seems instead of owing approximately an additional 250K (including penalties and interest) for 1999 I actually owed them about 3K (including penalties and interest). Instead of owing them an additional 250K (including penalties and interest) for 1998, it seems they actually owed me about 1K. Of course I was not allowed to add penalties and interest...<g>

At any rate, it is good to have the ordeal over...

Regards,
LG
