Rob v- I don't get it either. Early reviews from Verizon's offerings have been very positive. management has indicated as recently as 2 or 3 weeks ago that US 1x was doing well. Aside from vague (and as yet totally unsubstantiated) ruminations about PCS shelving their 1X rollout, this is the first report of any weakening in the outloook for 1X rollout in the US, and contradicts other reports from a number of firms in the CDMA periphery that 1X is shaping up to be a major growth driver in 2002. No reason is given by PJ as to why 1X uptake in America will be so disappointing. It is nonetheless worrisome.
