A smear is a smear whether it's England or anywhere else. The fact that two parties use the same invesment banker hardly tars them with the same brush! I heard years ago that the Mafia used Lombard bank in London as their international clearing house. Let's say it was true, and I used Lombards as my bank- would that mean that I was a member of the Maf? This sort of stuff that you post has no credibility, and only serves to try to destroy the credibility of Barrick. Not that they care. At the time that Ted Butler (where's he now?) was spewing the same sort of conspiratorial stuff about Barrick I called a senior official of the company (my only contact BTW over the last number of years) suggesting they should have their legal people look at it. I don't know what they did or whether a shot was fired across Butler's bows. But it was interesting that Barrick did not follow this thread or GPM - in fact I got a call later because they'd lost it! In the end, as Russett has said they can only go about their business trying to maximise their profits and let the naysayers like you piss into the wind, fart against thunder, etc., chose your metaphor!
