I've seen something like that, and paddled it. Not something I'd use for any distance, but great over a coral reef. Kids love 'em. Visibility is really pretty good, though they do scratch up if you're not careful.

This may be the same or a similar craft. The one that I saw looked like a short, chubby canoe, which made me think that it might be a bit awkward for paddling. However, as something to float along in over shallow water up here where you can see a lot of different things going on below, it might be a lot of fun. I thought about the "scratch factor" though, but according to the description, it mentions that although it will scratch, the scratches aren't too noticeable once the canoe is in the water (if you can believe that, of course). If it weren't quite so expensive (at least $2K of our Canadian pesos), I think I'd be very tempted to get one just for the fun of it. I would imagine it would be terrific to use in an area such as yours where the marine life is so rich and colorful.
