Milo, Anand's server comparison is, I believe, for AMD the most significant review ever written. It clearly shows that in server performance AMD's 0.18u solution competes favorably against Intel's best -- even with hyperthreading. Oh, how times have changed; it used to be that AMD would never have been taken seriously in the enterprise market, and now we're talking about Intel striving to be competitive enough with the AMD's enterprise level performance. But, I find this the most significant: Over the past few months we've had many OEMs approach us asking about a comparison between the fastest Athlon MPs and Xeon processors in a true server environment; well, it doesn't get much more real-world than this. OEMs are interested in Athlon MP. Anand's review gives them the justification they need to proceed. AMD will gain server market share. Hammer will greatly accelerate AMD's server inroads. I don't think the importance of this review to AMD can be overstated. anandtech.com Pravin
