Goldman 'recommends' NetScreen

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shares of NetScreen Technologies , a provider of network security systems, are falling 91 cents, or 6 percent, to $14.31. The stock appears to be feeling the weight of warnings from its peers SonicWall and Check Point Software earlier. Analyst Natarajan Subrahmanyan upgraded the stock to "recommended list" from "market outperform." Subrahmanyan feels the fundamental strength at the company, versus weakness at Check Point and Sonic Wall, indicates that NetScreen is focusing on a higher growth market -- firewall/VPN appliances -- and is likely gaining market share. He believes the stock's valuation remains attractive, and thinks it could trade up to the $17 range.
