Hi LG. Hear you about the tax thingy.

Yesterday faced the mixed blessing of leaning that I had more gains that I'd estimated for last year. And had to write a check for remaining taxes due plus a penalty.

Don't like to pay too close attention during the calendar year to how much I'm making. Learned years ago that it becomes a serious distraction. Key for me is to put my exclusive attention on the mechanics of doing good DD and do the best I can with entry and exit prices.

Other than having a vague sense of whether ahead or behind each week and month, focus on the running $$ growth tends to make me too conservative and hesitant to pull the trigger on trades. It's a quirk. We all have different quirks to navigate around as successful traders.

A LOT cheaper, to put all my energy into the work itself and pay a penalty once every few years vs getting hung up on how much money I've got.

My experience is that most investors are afraid to reveal such things for fear of censure with the bashing that occurs on so many threads. So, IMHO this may be the best thread to bring up such things without having to worry about being pilloried. Appreciate the care you've taken to create a safer environment for such topics to get an airing.

Best regards,

Isopatch
