NEW YORK, March 20 (Reuters) - Caminus Corp. (NasdaqNM:CAMZ - news), an energy trading software company, said on Wednesday it raised $25.6 million in a public stock offering and will use the proceeds to repay debt and for working capital and general corporate purposes, including possible acquisitions.

The company said 4 million shares were sold at $19.75 each -- 1.4 million by Caminus and 2.6 million by shareholders. The stock closed at $20.45 in Tuesday Nasdaq trade.

Caminus said it will not receive any of the proceeds from the sale of shares by the shareholders. It and the selling stockholders granted the underwriters an option to buy an additional 600,000 shares to cover any over-allotments.

Underwriting the offer were Banc of America Securities, Robertson Stephens and Wachovia Securities.

The company said in February that the selling investors included directors Christopher Brothers and Anthony Bloom.
