Yes, you must take the blame for what happens on your shift. The Middle East was under control when GHW Bush left office. By the time Clinton was done with his eight years it was a cauldron. The Clinton policy of conciliation to every petty dictator of any Muslim nation has placed us where we are.

Teddy Roosevelt used to say, "Speak softly, but carry a big stick." The fact is there are plenty of kids who never got beaten up by the schoolyard bully. The bully only picked on weak kids with behavior like you espouse.

War increases the cost of everything. It sickens me that we are being forced to demonstrate in specific terms that the U. S. is not going to tolerate anti-social behavior. The cost of waffling on foreign policy is high. Yes indeed the cost of Clinton's neglect of the military and foreign policy insincerity will run into the trillions.

It is an intricate dance, trying to take credit for things set into motion years before, while blaming antecedents for effects of later policies.
