I thought the only "tool" chimps used was a blade of grass to stick into any holes. Did chimps get dumber over the eons? The Lioness story is interesting. It makes you feel this little feeling of irrational, vague 'hope.' It seems somehow a wonderful thing. Or at least extreeeeemly cute. But look what happened to the two previous adopted oryxes. And this one didn't get to finish nursing. Life is complex.
