Carl, you're wrong on a couple of points...

The E7500 is for Xeon only. It is a server chipset, and the two motherboards currently using it (from Tyan and Supermicro) cost $500 or more, depending on which peripherals are integrated. Moreover, this chipset does NOT support any AGP graphics card. It has no future for anything other than server platform, and in any case, I doubt that this would to be a hit on the desktop!

Second, the E7500 only uses PC1600, and they must be ECC, Registered, and Buffered DIMMs--which cost quite a bit more than your standard/nonstandard DDR modules. You can install PC2100-ECC/Registered, but they will run on a 100Mhz FSB, so there is no "perfect" match between the memory subsystem and the forthcoming 133/533 FSB associated with the P-4 Northwood (not the Xeon). In fact, at the IDF, Intel stressed that there will be NO PC2100 version of the E7500 because it makes no difference on a server chipset.

Finally, it's interesting that a dual Xeon 2.2GHz with Hyperthreading enabled running with dual-DDR channels (E7500 chipset) is slower in key server applications than a dual AthlonMP running 600Mhz slower with a single-channel DDR chipset (AMD760MPX).
