The Israelis don't want a two state solution, either, and are doing everything they can to thwart it. That's the only possible explanation.

The majority of Israelis do want a two-state solution IF the other state is not going to be committed to their destruction. Since Arafat has now shown his true colors, accepting a two-state solution with Arafat at its head, in open alliance with Hamas and Hizbullah and Al Qaeda, who all proudly proclaim their intention to aim for a one-state solution -- no Israel -- is like inviting the Taliban to set up shop in the suburbs of Jerusalem.

You're right, the Israelis are not interested in this two-state solution.
