It is very hard to feel sympathy for people who are trapped in a disaster of their own making. The Palestinians complain that the Israelis never intended to deal with them fairly, and as a result, they have become radicalized. This is one of those things that makes outsiders disgusted, like the Tutsi versus the Hutus, or the Serbs versus the Albanians and the Croats.
