Sandeep, MSFT would NEVER go for that. You MUST PAY. The moment they let somebody buy a PC without buying Windows, Linux users will be empowered to choose what OS comes installed on their PC, and MSFT will not suffer that competitive outrage.

In fact, just the opposite is happening in Redmond. They are going to make you pay a subscription fee to keep your Windows computer up and running. So your hopeful suggestion that "You buy once and then don't buy anything ever again," while a laudable sentiment, is anathema to Microsoft's business plan.
