First, it took a long time to hammer out the ideas and institutions that characterize the modern world, so it makes sense to allude to the whole course of Western Civilization

The fact that they took a long time to hammer out does not make them relevant to your topic. For instance, how does the prevalence of homosexuality as a cultural hallmark during the 6th and 7th centuries BC relate to modern conservatism?

The net you are casting is unnecessarily wide, and appears to be merely gratuitous.

"Anyway, I did not say that those ideas were uniquely conservative ideas"

In fact, most of the ideas you have spoken of had nothing to do with conservatism, per se; for instance, the duty of government, the respect for the individual, etc. Yet you presented them as if they informed a distinctly conservative value system. Indeed, when I substituted the word "liberal" you took offense and responded in a defensive manner. Now, many posts later...you are trying to insert the word liberal yourself! Perhaps a lesson learned...
