I think it is fair to say that if you buy Windows through a particular "channel", say PC vendor, then you can't use that Windows on other PCs. However, if you buy it through a Wal-Mart or something like that (shrink-wrapped version), then I think you own it and like fair use in music, should be able to install on any PC you have as long as you are willing to verify that it is you who is doing it. I think that this takes away any argument that MSFT is a monopoly that needs to be "fixed"...
