Yes, that is true.. it is happening everywhere... thought I didn't get to hear all of the conference call. But aside from the lay offs I didn't recall hearing anything major or new in terms of of execution.

Right from the very beginning when BCE took over, the focus was on "Recurring revenue" and in the call Brian Edwards did say they would focus on:

1) Generating and driving this type of revenue (not a new strategy for IFM).

2) And they would focus on growth markets. which is what a company would do naturally.

Although, I still have yet to catch the remainder of the conference call from when Brian handed it over to Christian Trudeau... it didn't see like anything was new.

I too hope that they are sucessful in deriving more recurring revenues from their existing business lines. Looking at the press release today... they had cut 20% of their workforce which accounted for the generation of 5% of it's 2001 revenues. To me this was a no-brainer.
