I completely disagree with you regarding the notion of an unstable supply of oil. The world's oil market is more diverse today than at any time in history. Should the MidEast supply be disrupted, there is every reason to believe that there would be no more than a temporary price spike, inasmuch as any successor regimes to those involved in any military operations and/or coups would necessarily need to recommence distribution of oil ASAP unless the regime wishes ongoing civil unrest. All of the oil producing countries of the MidEast are as dependent on the flow of oil as the West is.
