No hype around that ... and that is a pleasant depature.

Virtually everyone acknowledges it as 3G.

Not only is it standardized to exceed the ITU IMT-2000 3G requirement of 2 Mbps fixed and stationary, it appears that even in its current precommercial stage, that it either accomplishes it or comes close to accomplishing it under live conditions.

... this unlike EDGE, which also is an ITU IMT-2000 approved standard but which does NOT meet the 2 Mbps fixed and stationary requirement.
