Keith, Re: I wish our current political leaders had the foresight to announce US independence from foreign oil within 15-20 years, along the line of JFK man on the moon commitment ! The Cheney team is taking exactly the opposite tack. They prefer to send the U.S. military to Kazakhstan and Columbia to subsidize the extraction of crude oil in the dangerous corners of the world. This is an unwarranted subsidy for the oil companies, while Cheney quietly kills research programs that might end the U.S. dependency of foreign oil. -Ray
