One simple rule for reading 10Qs: If negative numbers have to be reported, it is an absolute given that "weaker demand" from our demanders (i.e., customers) and "increased competition" from our competitors willbe invoked at some point. It might even be an SEC requirement: State to your shareholders why their money is flying out of their wallets.
