AOL, NT, LU, etc.

Joe, I disagree with your sentiment on AOL, though mr market certainly concurs. What continues to be overlooked is the huge cash flow from 33 million monthly subscribers and their huge cable biz. granted, aol sucks to sophisticated net users, but sooo many people i talk to who have AOL don't want to give it up. its portable, its friendly, it has their email address etc. the rate of growth in subscribers is certainly going to slow. there are only so many new users out there. after Time and Warner brothers merged, the stock went nowhere for 2-3 years, then started a long strong uptrend. i suspect the same thing will happen to AOL-TWX. I think this is a time to be accumulation this company, not dumping it.
NT - basket case, junk status, too much debt, avoid avoid avoid
LU - gettting interesting, i'm hearing a lot of value players picking up the stock. still, not my fav, pers no position.
telecomm - the news gets worser and worser. someday there will be a turn. then again, some of still believe in the easter bunny and santa claus. larry
