PATRIOTISM - H.L. MENCKEN
Ann,
Your hysteria and disparagement of my concerns reminds me of what H.L. Mencken had to say about patriotism:
"The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naive and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair."
********************************************************* Re: go join al Qaida or the Taliban (you'll feel right at home).
This is one of your more childish rants, dear. I've no truck with these theocratic fascists. I'd prefer to see their ilk eradicated. Unlike the present Walker (called that because Dubya can't run a country) Mal-Administration, who seem to prefer keeping remnants of these terrorists around every corner in order to justify their outrageous budgets for defense from terror. Which they conveniently perpetuate.
Yes, the secret agendas of the Bush mafia are terribly offensive to me. When I read Executive Order 13233: fas.org
And then find that it is not available on the White House website:
whitehouse.gov
I begin to smell a rat. Do you? What do these guys mean by trying to keep all these secrets, and then boldly delete mention of the enabling Executive Order from the President's website? What kind of a banana republic democracy is Walker trying to turn this country into? Surely, as a concerned citizen, it must gall you, or at least get your attention that the Bushistas are trying to lie to you, rule in secret and hide it all away from us. This doesn't bother you?
Just wondering, Ray |
