Once more, just for the record:

1. The Palestinians did not produce these maps at the time the talks fell apart after Taba. On the contrary, both Palestinian and Israeli negotiaters said at that time that the two sides were very close on the land issues, with over 95% of the territories to be returned, it was Jerusalem and the 'right of return' that caused the talks to break down. The maps appeared nearly a year later. memri.org quotes the evolving positions.

2. The Israeli negotiaters (sp. Shlomo Ben Ami) deny the accuracy of these maps.

3. Yes, Arafat promised to be satisfied with 22% of 'historic' (since 1922) Palestine. He also renounced terrorism. The second promise was false. You can judge the first one.

4. Whatever Barak's offer was, there was no counter offer from Arafat. Arafat just launched the intifada, preferring to negotiate with diplomats at the table AND bombs in the street. The Israelis don't accept this method.
