mr. mark, I have Norton on one machine (mine), but on the one of mine that is messed up (kid has my notebook) it has MacAfee. It's not the fault of the virus checker software as far as I can tell. Instead it is the old it ain't going to happen to me attitude, which, brought on bad prevention habits us older users have learned to follow.

The machine I've yet to get any time on since this has happened, but tonight a young computer savvy college student was to stop and give it the Ole college try. What bothers me is two things...one is if there are two viruses...and two if this guy can get it to start. No one has been able to get it restarted yet.

From what I understand is there are three names of viruses involved or I.D.ed from email info. on the PC. They are the "joke", "so funny" and "luv", the first two maybe the same virus.

What ticks me off is they came via the AOL service.

If I hear any factual information I'll share with the thread, and I thank you folks for the links and have looked them over and pasted them on.
