At this point Sharon has no choice but to go on. He will lose all face if he withdraws and that could be more damaging to Israel than anything. He has put himself in a situation of escalating commitments.

He had better clean up the garbage in Palestine as soon as possible and then move forward with a FAIR peace plan and an end to occupation or else Israel will become the new millennium's answer to South Africa circa 1985.
