FYI, in the fiber game, parts either last (as specified) or fail (early), and there is no repair. If too many parts from one manufacturer begin to fail early, something is wrong. Then they get replaced wholesale, not repaired.

From what I hear, JDSU is getting more opportunities to tout its support, as more customers are returning disfunctional components for replacement. In addition to that incident that hit the LightReading news, I heard there was another major problem recently.

That would go along with the "silent" (no press) layoff that happened last week too. If they keep shrinking, there will soon be no significant difference between JDSU and a well funded start-up.

PS: Did I mention the three (more today?) shareholder lawsuits, insider selling on the cheap (why?), and check out the exec compensation (was that $120M or just my imagination?) on Yahoo...

This is not the company Don Scifres ran by a long long shot. Time for haircuts IMO.
