A note about Per Lindbergh's current speculation about the display problem. To the best of my knowledge, Nokia's faulty supplier is compensating Nokia for damages related to the recall. I have not heard that any of Nokia's insurers are involved, or any insurers the supplier might have. More generally, I also wonder how an insurer can just stop paying a claim as Lindbergh speculates, because the insurers actuaries made some bad statistical calculations causing the insurer to underprice its premiums.
