What patronizing set of laws
It's another busy day so I don't have the time for a proper answer. In general I was referring to the setting of a "proper" common culture based on Western Europe history and Christain teachings. That is patronising. What makes Bill Benett or someone an expert on what we all should know.

The commons is a much bigger subject than just this. I think most political decisions come down to deciding what is in the common interest versus special interest. Usually the interested parties would prefer not use language that makes this clear since the special interest tends to look bad.
