I know of no one who is trying to make English "mandatorily exclusive". There is controversy over affirming that English is the official language of the United States, but even most of the proponents of that would not simply do away with translated documents for those with limited English. It is more a symbolic act, with modest practical consequences, like emphasizing English instruction in school. A lot of school districts have bent over backwards to provide instruction in the students native language, without pressing for phaseout as the student learns English, for example........
