It would probably have to send tanks in to shoot it out with the Israeli settlers who wouldn't leave.

I watched a show on this on NOW with Bill Moyers the other day. They interviewed both settlers and Palestinians, not together, of course, who got that glazed-over expression and talked about how God gave them the right to that land. One of the settlers, who was way out in the boonies, challenged the reporter asking if it was even conceivable that Israel would ever abandon them and then answering his question with an emphatic "no."
