Similar thoughts were expressed about abandoning settlements in the Sanai. When a political consensus instisted on a border, it was achieved. I think the 1967 border could use a few practical revisions, in particular I think a feeling of forced compromise would be achieved by moving the Arab population of East Jerusalem into some of the abandoned settlements of the West Bank. Everyone would grumble but I think they would learn to live with it.
