Politics is strange business everywhere but especially so in BC, highly polarised on a few issues and so intense that sight is unduly lost of issues in common presented by outside forces, imho .... just as much of a zoo nationally perhaps - one time i voted federally for a party called Western Canadian Concept, only as protest against the two ridiculous parties with any hope of winning, and being at that point unaware of the fact that the party leader was a white supremacist whacko, a lawyer who before and since defended vigourously the wannabe jew-burner Ernst Zundel ... older now and arguably more considered, now i vote strategically with an eye to the riding situation
My nick [from another post of yours] - this was given me by an acquaintance in a small illegal cantina one time, old man, spoke little spanish, mostly just ch'ol which is one of the present maya dialects ... it is about a four-way play on words, in the context of the day which had included an altercation with the state police, full title bestowed was 'el Sup-tomandante marcos', where Sup- derives from my brand of local beer, Superior, and tomandante from tomar, 'to drink' ... by this i am called now in that area, likely permanently
This is interesting - #reply-17301944 ... going to require thought and time in the typing though, likely better perfomed before the beer-and-a-half buzz sets in for the afternoon ..... 'vacuum' my arse, lol, but don't tell 'im i said that eh |
