Sort of.... I prefer my metaphor: Europe gradually morphing into White Africa, that is, a region with about the same living standard(s) as Black Africa but populated with white people... After all, as an article published in The Atlantic put it, Russia can already be thought of as Congo + permafrost. Of course, some European areas will enjoy a US-like lifestyle: the most dynamic cities lying in a banana-shaped area stretching from London/Lille (France) to Rotterdam/Brussels, to Frankfurt to Geneva to Milan.
