Interesting story... When I worked at CNBC, we tried to hire Louis. Quite an expensive fellow. He needed a weekly limo ride from DC to Fort Lee (where the studios are) each week. Not to mention his salary (I found that to be excessive, but these guys pretty much just name their figure). In the end (0bviously), we didn't get him. Too expensive, and the revenues wouldn't cover his costs. We hoped to make it up on "star" value, but even that wasn't enough. I wonder if he's going cheaper now..... This was about 8 years ago, mind you.
